Compass, brass, glass, inscribed with black numeric characters around outer face, rotating silver metal disc suspended in centre marked with compass points and degrees, compass points etched and painted in white around circumference, hinged lid with circular glass 'window', adjusting screw on side, on reverse white text "T.G.Co LTD, LONDON, No B187729, ↑, 1942, MK III", carrying ring, black, white, silver, known as degree compass.

Standard issue Military compass from World War II right up to the 1970's when the Silva type compass replaced them. This one was acquired by Mick Tighe at some time during his career. It's a nice example of a navigational item.
