Provenance

We've had a helpful e-mail from a Neil Clarke:-
"Hi there, was browsing your catalogue and came across your item number 048.2008.1. Just thought I'd ping you an e-mail to let you know that these boots are highly likely to be made by G.T.Hawkins of Northampton, and are the 'Skiddaw' model. I have an identical pair, albeit in much better condition! The details are stamped into the upper side of the internal leather tongue."
GT Hawkins were the makers, using the Itshide Commando sole.

We can't find any info stamped on the tongue but as Thomas Black & Sons were the suppliers it looks pretty much like G.T.Hawkins were the makers.
Thanks Neil.
