Provenance

Although we can't find a maker's name on this lovely set of skis, they are adorned with some lovely remnants of days gone by. What's left of a faded label says; L.N.E.R. - the London and North Eastern Railway which indicates that they are well travelled and a barely discernable Newcastle and Falkirk hint at the owner's residence.
Although we are not timber experts, these skis appear to be made of oak which is a little unusual. Can't find a name on the actual binding though it is of the Kandahar type. The heel straps , however, have 'Derby' stamped on them so we'll need to find out the story there. Another fine set of skis to compliment our collection.
