Provenance

ASMU is an abbreviated version of August Schuster of Munich, a company that was formed in 1914 to become one of the leading climbing equipment retailers in the world at the time. Products included ski-bindings, tents, clothing, crampons, ice-axes and karabiners. The ASMU brand disappeared in the late 1960's and we suspect the karabiners we have here in the collection are from that era, or a little earlier. The brand lives on, however, with its new title of Sporthaus Schuster.
