Provenance

During the early 1970's Royal Marine Commandos were deployed in Northern Norway each winter to learn Arctic warfare techniques and for some strange reason much of the gear that they used was Canadian! This gear included these Mukluks which were fitted to the skis by a rather odd plastic binding. Fortunately, the Marines soon started using more sensible Norwegian skis and bindings - and since Mick Tighe was one of the Marine instructors at the time, he kept these Mukluks for posterity.
