Provenance

The smaller clog ascendeur works on the same principle as the Jumar and the Expedition clogger. After the device has been fitted to the rope a karabiner is clipped into the hole below the spring loaded clamp, thus preventing the clamp from opening. Although the principle is sound in theory, in practice the continual need to remove this karabiner to bypass fixed protection makes the operation tedious. The teeth on the re-designed clamp are similar to those on the Jumar and Expedition cloggers. This pair were collected by Mick Tighe.
