Provenance

The Coleman Peak was included in a review of camp stoves in the October 1990 Trail Walker Magazine. Here's what they had to say;
"COLEMAN PEAK 1 FEATHER 400
Colernan UK, Parish Wharf Estate, Harbour Road, Portishead, Bristol, BS209DA. Tel: (0272) 845024.
This very latest, and lightest, Peak 1 stove from Coleman has all the features of its predecessor, including a high heat output and self-cleaning jet. It has a built-in pump, and a very simple start-up procedure.
The control lever gives full power and simmer settings. Fold-out legs give it better stability than most stoves which have burner mounted on top of the fuel tank.
•Vanes in burner help maintain efficient burning in windy conditions.
•Re-fuelling not possible until stove has cooled down.
Price: E39.00.
Dimensions (packed):
I3x16cms.
Weight(without fuel): 850 gms. Fuel: White Gas (Coleman Fuel). Time to boil half litre of water: 5 mins."
They gave it 4 stars for performance and the same regarding value for money. We got better value for money when our old friend, John Fraser, donated it for free!
