Mick Tighe joined Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team in 1978 and was issued with various items of kit including this Duvet. A note from Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team Minutes in November 1964 states that " 4 duvets have been purchased. On order are 2 helmets from Tiso and 1 Very Pistol". We are not sure if this duvet is one of the 4. Either way it wasn't used much when Mick got it and wasn't used much after. Duvets were popular in the 60's & 70's, almost as a 'fashion item' but the bulk was a problem and you were too hot with them on and too cold without: a happy medium with a layering system was preferred. This one is down filled and of very good quality.
