Brief Description

Ski Rescue stretcher designed for fitting to standard NATO skis. White canvas with brown canvas straps and metal buckles at one end and a metal pole attached to the other end. Seven metal edged holes down both sides. Four brackets for attaching to skis and three metal cross bars. White nylon ropes attached to end.

These stretchers were standard issue to Royal Marines training in Norway during the 1970's and 1980's, the idea being that if someone was injured you could use their skis to form the basis of the stretcher. They were heavy and therefore not popular.
