SCOTTISH SKI CLUB JOURNAL
Glasgow, 23rd October, 1936.
Dear Mr. Editor,
Can nothing be done to relieve the congestion on the Lochan-na-Larig Road at Killin ? It is intolerable that the Committee and their friends should be hampered in their activities, and that their access to the easy slopes around the Club Hut should be impeded by ordinary members' cars.
Yours etc.,
"ORDINARY MEMBER"
To The Editor of
The Scottish Ski Club Journal.
Dear Sir,
Might I through your columns beg Skiers to behave a little more sensibly on the narrow roads used to reach the mountains ?
I refer particularly to the Lawers-Bridge of Balgie road.
If owners of cars would keep in mind only two points of common civility, conditions would be pleasanter for all.
Firstly, to leave plenty of room for other cars to go up and down, so that it is not necessary to slow down and almost stop in order to get past each car parked on the roadside. When climbing a hill it is particularly irksome to have to stop and start again on a slippery surface.
Secondly, to realise that others may want to go higher than they have done, no matter whether this appears to be possible or not. With chains and shovels it is often possible to get through a drift which looks formidable or even impassable, and the existence of the drift is no excuse for leaving a car below it in the middle of the road.
Thanking you for the courtesy of allowing me your valuable space.
I remain, your old and regular contributor,
DISGUSTED,
