Provenance

Valor started out in 1890 selling oil storage containers and oil heaters in the Erdington area of Birmingham. At some point they merged with a firm called Baxi which took its name from Richard Baxendale who had started his iron moulding business back in 1866. Baxi and Valor extended their business during WW11 making ammunition boxes, fuel cans and we suspect, stoves.
We are not too sure, but suspect this nice little stove is 1950's era and still seems to be in pretty good condition. They seem to be fairly common and one failed to reach the asking price of £17.50 on e-bay in January 2011. Mick Tighe bought this one with a load of others, in a box, back in the 1970's.
