This is one of the myriad ice axes to appear on the scene in the 1970's , capitalising on the move from wooden shafts to various forms of metal, glass fibre and plastic. This one seems to have a metal shaft coated in some form of plastic. It's a pretty sturdy beast and was once in the stores of Mick Tighe's Mountain Guiding Company - Nevis Guides.
