Provenance

Fabulous, is the best way to describe these lovely little pieces of Scottish mountaineering history. Hand painted by Davie Glen - of which you can learn more in our archive section -in the 1960's and 70's, these lovely little miniatures were destined for the tourist market as Davie tried to earn himself a few bob to survive. How many he made and how many were sold, we've no idea, but the ones here in the collection were kept by Davie's niece ,Mina, when he died in 1978 and subsequently donated to us in 2012.
Davie's artistic ability is open to some debate, but his knowledge of Scottish mountains and painstaking dedication to the task is without question. An excellent addition to the Davie Glen archive and to our Mountain Heritage Collection.
