Provenance

Bit of a curio this fella having a somewhat complicated heritage.Plumbob were (don't think they still are in 2013)a wholesale retailer of hardware back in the 1960's and it seems they got a Birmingham company called M H Berlyn & Co. to make these stoves for them. Berlyn were already in the paraffin stove market with their own brand which they called Parasene. Parasene stoves seem to be almost exact copies of the Swedish Primus which makes one wonder about copyright laws!
Anyway, Berlyn & Co. seem to have made these stoves for Plumbob as a one off, and either they, or Plumbob stencilled and stuck the logo on. A nice little clue to all this is a close look at the picture on the box which depicts a Parasene stove, not a Plumbob.
Realising it was a bit of a curio, Mick Tighe bought this particular stove on e-bay for a few pounds in 2013.
Oops! forgot to mention that this type of stove with fixed legs was more a household version than the collapsibile, camping version where legs could be removed and put in a carrying tin with all the other bits.
