Provenance

Our next door neighbour was throwing a pile of these old wooden pegs away so we couldn't resist grabbing a few for the collection. Although they are exactly the same as tent pegs from the same era - circa 1950 - these particular ones were used to hold a net for catching rabbits and were sold by the local farm supplies shop - along with the net - in Fort William.
We've always enjoyed items of the 'homemade' variety and these pegs seem to fit that category with their rough/random style. Simple but effective.
