Provenance

CMI stands for Colorado Mountain Industries,an American company which specialises in rescue equipment and the item we have here in the collection is a Rescue '8' Ring - here's what they have to say about it :-
" Big enough to handle the largest ropes - two of them. Extended horns on the upper ring prevent rope from sliding up and locking when tying off. Dual holes on the tie-in end allow the eight to remain attached to the harness while threading the rope, preventing loss of the device in extreme conditions."
Still quite usable (2013) this one is in mint condition and was once part of Mick Tighe's rescue equipment.
