Provenance

Parasene stoves seem to have been made by a firm called M H Berlyn & Co. in Birmingham. They are therefore one of the many British copies of the original Primus Stove produced in Sweden back in 1892. Parasene stoves, and the one we have here in the collection, seem to date from the 1950's/60's, some being made for the Ministry of Defence and others for the civilian market.
We seem to have the two pint collapsible version here, not in its original tin but in a wooden version made by its previous owner, Pete Davis, who kindly donated it to us.
