Holbrow
England
Holbrow & Co seem to have been specialist retailers of fishing tackle going back, at least, to the 1980's though as is often the way with these companies, they disappeared from the scene sometime in the 1930/40's. Rather tantalisingly we see that these ones are " for use in Halbrow's Pocket Holder" so we need to go hunting for one of these now!
As 'trench' candles we assume that they were produced for one of the World Wars, or at least for the military, with a spin off for the camping/ tent fraternity and we can guess at a production date of around 1930/40.
Our good friend, Don Matheson bought these ones for a few pence in Auldearn Antiques up near Nairn and kindly donated them to us.
