Provenance

Chouinard Hexentrics first appeared on the market in America in 1971 and made their way over to the UK a couple of years later, slowly replacing the Hexagonals of earlier times.
We're not sure when Chouinard started drilling holes in their Hexentrics to make them lighter - maybe around 1980 - but lots of folks had beat them to it by drilling their own, two excellent examples of which we have here in the collection.
These two belonged to our old pal, Ed Grindley, and were kindly donated to us by his wife, Rhona, when Ed headed off to the greater ranges in 2012.
We just love homemade gear and stuff that is modified by the owners - innovation on the move!
