Denny Moorehouse is perhaps better known, historically at least, for founding a company called Clog in North Wales in the 1960's, one of the UK's first outfits to produce gear specifically for rock climbers. Clog was eventually taken over by Wild Country and ceased to exist though Denny moved on to create a new business, DMM - Denny Moorehouse Mountaineering in 1981.
DMM carried on pretty much where Clog had left off, with good, innovative gear for the recreational climber and mountaineer. The 4cu Cam we have here in the collection is a good example of that style.
American climber/ inventor,Ray Jardine, had teamed up with the UK firm of Wild Country in 1977/78 to produce the iconic 'Friend', the world's first mass produced camming device for rock climbing. A host of variations followed and the DMM 4cu was one of them. We're not quite sure when the 4cu first appeared on the market, maybe sometime in the 1990's.
This particular one appeared on Mick Tighe's rack not long after, though he can't remember where from!
