Provenance

Mountain Guide, well Kent man of the Scottish Mountains and a good friend of our collection, Allen Fyffe, kindly donated this fine little suit which we would probably call a 'onesie' these days. Allen also provided us with the following information.
"These suits were made for the 1985 Pilkington sponsored expedition to the then unclimbed North East Ridge of Everest led by Mal Duff. The suits were filled with synthetic insulation and designed for use round Base and Advanced Base Camps lower down the mountain before down suits were required. They were all of different colours or patterns so individual climbers could be recognised from a distance and equipment didn't get mixed up."
