Radius
Sweden
Radius was a Swedish company that seems to have begun life around 1913, just a few years behind its better known rival, Primus. So prolific was the Primus stove that the name became generic and over 100 years later paraffin stoves of all makes and models are often referred to as 'Primus Stoves'
Radius did make some headway in the paraffin stove market though, and their stoves have become rather collectable.
There's an excellent website called Classic Camp Stoves if you want to know more about such things.
Meanwhile, we have a fairly early - circa 1930 - Radius No. 21 stove here in the collection. A lot of the early paraffin stoves were fairly large affairs created for the domestic market before the days of gas and electricity. Small, portable versions for camping and the outdoors appeared in the 1920/30's to an ever growing market and the Radius No 21 was one of them.
This one came as part of a job lot bought on e-bay for a few pounds in 2015. Not sure if the tin is original as it seems to have been repainted.
