Provenance

The Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes (NAAFI) began life back in 1921, designed to cater for the needs of service personel at home and abroad. Understandably perhaps, the organisation was at its maximum capacity during World War Two and at some point in the proceedings, Edward Scott seems to have bought this tin of Four Square tobacco mixture to put in his pipe. Edward was a member of the Cameron Highlanders at the time, though quite where he was based we are not sure. Seems he loved his ‘baccy’ anyway and we just love the wee tin it comes in.
