A guy called, Stewart Miller, down in Fife, bought this pair of crampons many moons ago because they were part of the kit required to attend a mountaineering course which he had booked. In the event there was lots of snow but no ice so the crampons were not used. They subsequently spent a decade or so in Stewart’s loft until he kindly donated them to us.
We reckon they are 1980’s era and are what is known as Scissor Crampons of the clip on, rather than strap on variety.
Made in Italy and patented are the only markings we can find. Who patented them and what specific name they were given remains a mystery.
