“Hi, I have in my possession my grandfather’s leather ski jacket and leather gloves - he used these in 1937 when skiing in Engelburg, Switzerland. I am relocating so need to clear lots of possessions, I would hate to throw these away. Would the museum be interested in these items? I have black & white images of them skiing too. Thank you.”

We were very happy to reply positively to this enquiry from Andrea Childs who kindly sent us the jacket, hat and gloves. Her grandfather was Archibald McKenzie Fisher and the rather woozy picture opposite shows him and his wife on honeymoon in the Endelburg in 1937 - we just love the fact that Archie is wearing a tie when out skiing. No markings or maker’s name on any of these items though the hat looks hand knitted. Excellent items to enhance our collection of skis and memorabilia.
