Military Supplier
In many ways a canvas water bucket is a fairly small item to have here in the collection but in other ways it tells a big story. It tells of how we have changed from environmentally friendly materials to plastic.
Made for the military in 1943, this bucket would have found its way into the government surplus shops after the second world war, to be snapped up by a happy camper; in this case the donator.
Still serviceable some 70 years later, it has stood the test of time and crucially would bio- degrade should it be discarded - unlike its modern, plastic counterparts.
So, a nice little timepiece addition to our collection .... thanks to Dave Pritchard for bringing it up the glen for us.
