Provenance

The Scots would call this rucksack a bit of a ‘boorach’ i.e. it’s a mess. We love it all the more for that since it is obviously a handmade botch job cobbled together from one or more Karrimor rucksacks - maybe a bigger one made smaller - an expedition sack into a day sack.
Dating from the 1960’s, it speaks of a ‘make and mend era’ when folk had less cash and there were fewer outdoor shops and it seems that people were somewhat more practical back in the good old days.
This little fella once belonged to Roger O’Donovan and was kindly donated by his wife, Jane.
