We can’t find a maker’s name on this lovely little pair of ski boots. They do have a Vibram sole but Vibram soles were fitted to most ski boots from this era(circa 1940/50) reflecting the fact that the boots were multi purpose. You would probably use them to walk up the mountain to the snowline, put the skis on to ski up the hill and keep the same boots on to ski back down.
A Kandahar type binding was pretty universal during this period since it could be used with the cable ‘unclipped’ for the cross country element of the journey and ‘clipped’ for the downhill giving better control.
The advent of ski tows in Scotland in the 1960’s separated ‘the men/women from the boys/girls’….the former stuck with the cross country theme and the latter took to the ski tows, downhill skis and muckle boots to go with them.
