We can’t find a maker’s name on this fabulous set of crampons and whilst they date from the 1950’s, or maybe earlier, they are in mint condition.
The main producers of crampons in that era were Grivel in Italy and Stubai in Austria and a page from a 1955 Pindispots catalogue(opposite) shows a very similar looking pair of Austrian crampons on sale for £3.00.
We don’t think the straps on these ones are original and the number 37 stamped on them is probably a boot size ( size 4 UK) as these crampons were not adjustable so needed to fit the boot.
Unfortunately, we don’t have the donor’s details - thanks anyway.
