Provenance

‘Mr Cairngorms’ is the title often given to Adam Watson(1930-2019) ecologist, mountaineer, author and well kent figure in his native Deeside.
As a qualified zoologist he bacame fascinated by the high mountain birds of the Cairngorms, particularly the Ptarmigan which he studied for most of his life.
No doubt, Adam’s binoculars, which we have here in the collection, were used to spy ptarmigan on many an occasion.
They were kindly donated by his daughter, Jenny - many thanks.
