Stadium
England
Looks like a company called Stadium were making goggles in the 1960’s, most of which seem to have been destined for the motorbikers of the era.
Dating from 1968, the pair we have here in the collection were made for the Ministry of Defence (M.O.D) as they bear the M.O.D. arrow or crowsfoot (↑)which was the kitemark used by the military for centuries, indicating that it belonged to them.
The pair we have here were issued to the Royal Marines for driving open top landrovers and sno-traks where the tops had been removed to make way for a Wombat anti-tank gun.
Founder of our Heritage Collection, Mick Tighe, acquired this pair while serving as a Royal Marine in Norway in the 1970’s and seems to have forgotten to return them when he left.
